After this fun little episode I was sitting on the floor with Anabelle in my lap when Sarabeth comes up to us with a plastic crown in her hand. She said she had a surprise for Anabelle and tried to put the crown on her head, but little miss "no cookie" was still in a mood and wanted no part of that. I asked Sarabeth if she would wear the crown instead, but she said "No mom. I'm not married yet!" Maybe we should lay off the Cinderella/princess stories!
Here is your snapshot into our lives. Josh and I have been married for 7 years and have 3 little girls. Sarabeth is 5, Anabelle is 4, and Adelyn is 1. We live just north of Ft. Worth and are loving it. We've been here for 3 years and can't imagine living anywhere else at this point in our lives. We know we're right where God wants us!

Josh is out of town tonight so I'm pulling out all the stops to keep the girls busy/involved. We went to the store earlier and among my list of things, I bought some cookies for after dinner. Anabelle didn't quite understand AFTER and instead screamed her way through dinner while not eating a bite. Sarabeth ate her dinner and a cookie and I brought them upstairs (Anabelle still screaming) to bathe them. After a few minutes of being in time-out I tried again to talk through this bargain with her. Instead of spahetti, I asked her if she'd like chicken nuggets, PB&J, anything else so she could have a cookie after. She said no to them all. I said, "What would you like to eat for dinner so you can have a cookie?" to which she responded, "A COOKIE!" I guess I should have seen that coming. The good news is she finally calmed down and seems to have forgotten the whole thing... :)

The things they say...
The girls & I went up to OKC for a few days...Josh is out of town this week and I didn't feel like spending the whole week at home as a single mom. Yesterday I was laying Sarabeth down for a nap at my parent's house and when I walked into the room I noticed the bed was littered with yellow foam/stuffing. Here's our conversation as we were cleaning it up:
me: Sarabeth, what's this? Where did it come from?
Sarabeth: I took it out of my tiger. (a stuffed tiger she'd been carrying around all day which is probably as old as I am)
me: You shouldn't tear your toys apart. Then you won't have any left.
Sarabeth: (pause..) I'm sorry, mom.
me: Thank you, and make sure you apologize to Nana too. It was her tiger.
Sarabeth: Ok. I'm sorry, mom. And I tell Nana I'm sorry too.
me: It's ok, I forgive you.
Sarabeth: I forgive you too, mom.
For what, I'm not sure. But she forgave me. Too cute!
