Here is your snapshot into our lives. Josh and I have been married for 7 years and have 3 little girls. Sarabeth is 5, Anabelle is 4, and Adelyn is 1. We live just north of Ft. Worth and are loving it. We've been here for 3 years and can't imagine living anywhere else at this point in our lives. We know we're right where God wants us!

$1.99
As many of you know, our first born is really red-headed and four-legged. Now that we've had REAL children for 3 years, Maverick has taken an abrupt backseat to the girls. Most days he's just an extra mouth to feed, a bark that wakes the girls up from their naps, a food thief (Anabelle helps him with this on a regular basis!) and the list goes on. The girls love having him around though, so we wouldn't actually give him away (though we talk a good talk!) Yesterday he'd had enough and decided to put himself up for sale...I think it's a bargain!!

San Diego
Josh & I had a little getaway last weekend to San Diego. He had a convention and I didn't want the poor guy to have to go all the way out there by himself, so I went too :) He was in classes most of the day so I had time to get a haircut, nap- you know, all the important stuff! Despite the rainy & cold weather we had a great trip! I always miss the girls like crazy when we're away from them even though this was a much-needed break. I also forget how hilarious they are when we're away! I've been cracking up ever since we got back!
Here are a few I can remember from the past 2 days...
On the way back from picking Sarabeth up from Mother's Day Out, I stopped and got lunch...
Sarabeth: (looking at my to-go cup) Mom, is that a party cup?
Me: No, it's just a cup from the restaurant.
Sarabeth: You got that party cup from the restaurant?
Me: Yep.
Sarabeth: It's Party Time!!
Last night as we're finishing dinner...
Me: Sarabeth, you & Anabelle ate a great dinner tonight.
Sarabeth: Yes, and now it's time for candy!

A rough go
I feel like I'm always complaining on the blog about us being sick, injured, cranky, etc... so I'm sorry. We've been many of those things over the last 4 or so weeks so I've tried my best to avoid griping about it. The girls have been sick for about a month on and off, I got it for a while, and now Josh is on antibiotics because he was coming down with it pretty badly. However, all that said, yesterday was the first day in a LONG time (maybe even since we've been home from the surgery) that I ended the day thinking, "this was a GREAT day!" It was SO refreshing! The girls were sweet as can be- happy, agreeable, took long naps, everything a parent can ask for.
With all that we've had going on lately I've realized it's easy to be the parent of happy children. Anyone can do that. It's the days when the children are impossibly cranky and ornery that I feel like I'm totally unfit to be a parent. I had coffee with a friend last night and we were talking about how the Lord gives us days like yesterday to remind us that we CAN do this.

Now for some funny pictures totally unrelated to anything...
Classic Sarabeth- thumb and hair in the mouth.
chillin'
Yes, Anabelle is eating yogurt with a huge wooden spoon (and loving it!)
Wild hair after a nap.
Sarabeth's art project- stickers in her sister's hair. Who needs paper?

Old Friends
We had a visit this past weekend from our friends that we met while we lived in Waco. They have a 1 year old boy and a girl who is 2 weeks younger than Sarabeth. Ava (Vava as she used to call her) and Sarabeth were inseparable! It's been about 10 months since the girls have seen each other and it was so fun getting together! I only had my camera out for a few minutes and realized I didn't get a single picture of Aidan- but he was there too!
Sarabeth, Anabelle & Ava
sweet girls
a funny attempt at a smile?!
On another note, the girls are finally starting to feel better after 3 weeks of being sick! They both still have coughs but the fevers are gone, and this morning it seems like the crankiness might be slowly going away also. We're ready for an entire week with good health!!
