Imagination

I love hearing what Sarabeth & Anabelle talk about when they're playing together.  Lately they've been into playing doctor.  Mostly giving "shots" to each other and their baby dolls, then putting on bandaids (stickers.)  Some of what they say makes sense, other times I don't think they even know what they're talking about.

Right now they're taking care of their sick baby dolls and I'm pretending not to listen/pay attention to them.  This was part of their conversation...

Anabelle: My baby's sick!
Sarabeth: Ok, ok let me give her a shot.  My mom's, like, crazy.
Anabelle: Now she's taking a nap.  Leave her alone.
Sarabeth: I'm a little crazy, too.  Is your baby feeling better?
Anabelle: Come on, babe.  Come on, babe. (talking to Sarabeth)
Sarabeth: Let's go give her one more shot.

WHERE does this stuff come from?  While her mom *might* be a little crazy, it's not something I expected her to incorporate into her imaginative play :) Like I said, sometimes they make sense, other times it's out of left field.

and she grows!

Not that there was any doubt, but Adelyn is growing by leaps & bounds!  She'll be 4 weeks old  tomorrow (Monday the 25th) and I can't figure out where the time has gone.  She's still as sweet as ever.  The last few nights she's even slept 6 hours straight!  The big sisters still love her to death and want to help with everything.  They're great little mommies!

Her big sisters were insistent upon her having the unicorn- they told me she NEEDS it!

We had a fun visit from aunt Pat last week!

Sweet Adelyn!

We're so excited to introduce you to the newest Wall girl- Adelyn Elizabeth Wall.  She was born at 7:12 AM on December 28th, weighing  6lbs 13oz and 19 3/4" long.  She's such a sweet baby...eats well, sleeps well...what more can you ask for in a newborn?!  The big girls have been wonderful with her.  They're fascinated with how small she is and think she constantly needs something.  She makes a noise and they're running at her with the pacifier, "Mom!  She's crying!" or they're bringing her a blanket, toy, stuffed animal, etc.  It's  so sweet to watch their nurturing side come out.  I, of course, have a million pictures so it's hard to narrow it down for a blog post, but here are a few of my favorites.

Adelyn, 8 days old.

Funny little side-story.  Today I noticed Sarabeth had been in the bathroom for a while so I went to check on her.  She comes out holding Josh's "Franchising World" magazine.  I asked her what she was doing and she sits down on the couch, looks at me, and says, "I'm just going to read for a little bit."  Sure enough, she thumbed through this magazine for a good 5 minutes.  Josh was VERY proud of his little buisness woman!
